1st IMS Japan Award
Establishment of IMS Japan Award
In June 2016, the establishment of the IMS Japan Award was decided to commemorate the establishment of the Japan IMS Association (English name; IMS Japan Society). Following the Learning Impact Award (LIA) of the IMS Global Learning Consortium, we recognize outstanding cases that have made significant contributions to the educational use of technology. This applies not only to vendors who provided products and services (including prototypes in the development stage), but also to applications from educational and training institutions that introduced them and implemented innovative practices. The Japan IMS Association expects vendors and introducing organizations to apply in close cooperation. Held in conjunction with the Japan e-Learning Awards (recruitment in June, commendation in October), the award for excellence is the final screening of the LIA (December recruitment deadline, award ceremony at the next spring spring competition) sponsored by the IMS Global Learning Consortium. The right to participate in the event (submission of English examination materials and presentation at the next spring tournament is required), and the first prize will be a prize of 200,000 yen as a travel expense subsidy. The LIA is the fourth country to be exempt from qualifying, following South Korea, Australia and the United Kingdom, but Brazil will also participate from this year. In the future, it is expected that Japan will also proceed with development in accordance with global standards with a view to overseas use.
IMS Japan Award Selection Method
Since the IMS Japan Award has the character of LIA district qualifying, the selection criteria for the IMS Japan Award are based on the LIA selection method. However, from the perspective of gaining a broader understanding of the activities of the IMS Global Learning Consortium in Japan, Japanese is also accepted for application documents. Overseas judges (IMS Global Learning Consortium CEO, Dr. Rob Abel) will also participate from the second screening of the IMS Japan Award (finalized by the top three points), and the screening will be conducted in English (if the application documents are in Japanese). , Translate into English in consultation with the applicant).
